The staff at Rosebud River Ranch focuses on matching each foal and each horse with the right owner. When you buy a foal, you have a unique opportunity to have the horse of your dreams; to raise a horse from the beginning, to form a special bond and to oversee, arguably, the most important years in a horse’s life—to ensure that all of its habits are good ones and that its formative years are happy ones. Foals get special treatment at Rosebud River Ranch. We imprint the babies...a process that leads to uniquely gentle animals. Our trainers, managers and staff stroke the newborns, training them from their first days of life to trust and respond to human beings. They spend time with each foal and the results are truly amazing. The babies are halter-trained and led in their initial weeks of life and are exposed to the rituals of grooming; exposed to clippers, spray bottles and have their feet picked and trimmed within their first few months of life. We walk them alongside their mothers and try to expose them to as many trail surprises as possible at a young age. We think our foals are extraordinary... and we invite you to come out and see for yourself!
