About Our Breeding Program

We typically have foals every year, between three and five babies each Spring.  They're usually born in April or May, and are typically weaned by September, between 5-6 months after their birth.  We had 2 foals in 2008 -- Olivia and Orion -- and both are available for sale.  Please contact us if you would like to see them.

We breed for temperament, gait, conformation, size and color — in that order. Our years of experience have taught us that prioritizing characteristics this way leads to the best possible experience for the future owner.

We want to make sure the temperament gives you the lifelong relationship you want with your horse. This will likely be a long one--up to 30 years--and we want it to be rewarding for both you and your horse.

A comfortable gait means years of easy riding. It also means your body won't be tossed around on the trail. And because of those factors,  you'll likely  be riding more places more often, and getting more out of your investment.

Conformation is first based on the registry standards and our own preferences for close-cropping, beautiful head shape, erect head set, aesthetic appeal and endurance.

Size matters. We comply with the registry standards, and take special care to breed horses that are a manageable size — between 14.2hh and 16hh (most are about 15hh).

As far as color goes, these horses come in a variety of colors. All are eligible for registration in one or more of the breeds and all have their charms. Color does not determine a sale price. The overall excellence of the horse and the standards we require in our breeding program are the key factors in the prices we ask.

Our stallion, Rocky Morgan, is available for stud service to suitable mares.
